Unspoken
About
Centricity Music recording artist Unspoken has received over 350 million on-demand streams, 80 million YouTube video views and released two No. 1 radio songs along with 11 Top 15 hits. With music that is as distinct as its roots, the band’s soulful, pop-flavored songs are led by the Adam Levine-esque vocals of Chad Mattson. Fueled by Mattson’s transparency as a songwriter who has battled addiction and is now two decades into his sobriety, along with Jon Lowry (bass), Ariel Munoz (drums), Zach Smith (guitars) and Matthew Callaway (keys), Unspoken has no fear of mixing it up, whether backed by a horn section, gospel choir or hip-hop rhythms. The band’s first new project in four years, God Help Me, is a five-song masterpiece featuring the title track and music video that were inspired by scripture (Psalm 18:6) and the insurmountable challenges people encounter. “‘God Help Me’ is about those desperate moments in life where all we can do is cry out to God,” says Mattson. “We've been there, so many times. Prayer changes things because God loves us and hears our cries. “With this record, we want to encourage the body to live what the Word of God says, to believe what it says and to stand up for what it says,” adds Mattson. “The whole goal is to encourage each other in the faith.” Releasing its self-titled debut in 2014 that featured the band’s first radio single and No. 1 AC hit “Start A Fire,” Unspoken’s sophomore album, Follow Through (2016), launched to No. 7 on the Billboard Top Christian Album Chart while its latest full-length album, Reason (2019), sparked the band’s biggest, multiformat No. 1 hit so far, “Reason.” Taking its No. 1s, fan favorites and Top 10 singles like “Who You Are,” “Lift My Life Up,” “Good Fight” and “You’ve Always Been” on tour, Unspoken has shared the stage with artists like TobyMac, Casting Crowns and MercyMe, among others. With its touring and music, the band is living out its mission to be unspoken testimonies to God’s love and power and to speak what oftentimes goes unsaid.
